Why Lumina exists.

Lumina comes from a simple conviction: that what we build should give back to the world that makes it possible. It is bigger than displays. But with screens now on almost every wall, street and shelf, they are where we believe we can have the greatest impact.

Vision. Displays that earn their place.

To make displays that earn their place: lighter on the planet, and giving something back to the land they stand in.

Mission. Give back more than we take.

We believe a display should give back more than it takes. So we build light-powered reflective displays that communicate in full colour on almost no energy, and with every one sold we invest in regenerating Australian landscapes, openly and honestly.

A note from the founder.

I didn't set out to start a display company. I started Lumina because of a belief I can't shake: that without the land and the living world around us, none of us can keep creating, building, or living well. What we make should give back to the world that makes it possible, not just take from it.

It's bigger than displays, really. Everything we create and consume sits on the same scale. Used thoughtfully, the things we build can be remarkable. Used carelessly, they quietly drain the world that sustains us. That feels like the choice in front of all of us right now, in almost everything we make.

Displays are simply where I can do something about it. So we built ours to sit on the right side of that line: powered by light, holding their image on almost nothing, and giving a little back with every one we sell.

It goes deeper than a product for me. Getting these displays into the world, and using them to help regenerate the country that raised us, is what I want to spend my time building. Not loudly, not perfectly, but honestly, and for the generations who come after us.
